Interfax is reporting that Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is considering running for the IOC presidency. The aim is apparently just to publicise chess and not to win the elections.

I hope Kirsan gets elected to the ioc presidency, hopefully that will get him out of the fide presidency and then he can deal on an equal footing with all the other thugs running around from other ioc countries.
