My old mate Leo Tenorio sent in some news about Pinoy chess. GM Darwin Laylo has done enough to make it into the World Chess Cup by leading the Zone 3.3 competition in Vietnam with 7 points. Laylo needs just a half point in his last game for an outright win.
Meanwhile, GM Wesley So is presently in second place and he, too, needs just a draw to secure the second seat for the World Cup.
