Smerdon Leads Wang 3-2

With just one more game to play in their six-game contest, GM Smerdon leads his Kiwi opposition 3-2. After winning the first bout, the Australian has managed only draws in the next 4 games. The last one was quite exciting.

Final score 4-2

Other than game 5, Puchen seemed timid and a little outclassed.

Inexperience?

Game 1 Puchen seemed outclassed althought he missed couple of chances to draw.

Game 2 to 5 were good fights on even terms

Game 6 Puchen was doing fine , until he sac'ed piece thinking he was getting it back with interest. Strange overlook on his part, not up to his usual standard.

So I disagree with Michael F that he seemed outclassed ( only in game 1 )
